About Giclée Fine Art Prints
Giclée (Jhee-clay) is a French word meaning “to spray”. In the printing industry it describes a technique of spraying ink onto the medium to produce a digital print. With the rapid advance of inks designed for the fine art market, and UV coatings designed to further preserve color quality, archival fine art produced by digital print technology is becoming the printer’s definition for quality.
Caring for Giclée Prints
- No original or fine art print should be displayed in direct sunlight.
- Do not allow water to come in contact with the print. The printing is produced with water-soluble inks which could dissolve upon contact with water.
- The print is covered with UV coatings and a varnish to help protect it from moisture, dust and dirt.
- To clean the print, dust lightly with a soft cloth.
